AiRM 2022

‘Blessed are the Children’ 2022.  A site specific installation for Lady Chapel, St Clements church. Nuno felted Silk Chiffon with Romney washed & carded fleece and Merino wool, 275cm x 400cm.

`As a Visual Artist, my work is created from the particularity of who I am: a black woman, a feminist, a daughter, a mother, an activist and a British Textile Artist.

My large-scale works draw out the aesthetic and symbolic potential of the laborious process of felting. My Textiles and photographic collages often explore the politics of representation but the catalyst for much of my current work is Climate Change.’
